Since the sixties, Sanejouand harnesses stones and use them in his works : already there in the Jeu de Topo (Topo game), they are included in several Charges-Objets. In 1989, Sanejouand started to create sculptures made with stones found during his everyday walks and carefully selected so as to look interesting whatever the point of view. When he managed to gather a few of them, he painted them in black, so as to underline their shape. Some of these small sculptures were then be enlarged and turned into bronze, like Le Silence and the Le Magicien.
