Plan for the organisation of the space of a snow covered valley in the mountains - september 1969

Study of the site : DETERMINATION of all possible AVALANCHE PATHS by photographic survey.

When snowfall and meteorological conditions permit 3 AVALANCHE PATWAYS are SELECTED ON EACHSIDE of the valley.

A team composed of AN EXPLOSIVES EXPERT and rescue men goes TO THE STARTING POINT OF EACH AVALANCHE PATH.

The explosives expert (who will be tied to a coloured balloon in order to be located immediately should he be caught in a premature avalanche) PLACES AN EXPLOSIVE CHARGE AND A SMOKE POT emitting a heavy coloured non toxic gas as well as A REMOTE CONTROL TRIGGERING DEVICE.

After the teams have withdrawn, A RADIO PULSE TRIGGERS OFF THE EXPLOSIONS.

The 6 AVALANCHES OCCUR SIMULTANEOUSLY.
THE COLOURED GAS CLOUDS (cold colours : blue, green and violet on one side ; warms colours : yellow, orange and red on the other) FORM over the starting points and slowly drift downloads until the fade out into the atmosphere.

At the time when the explosion take place it is possible that others unplanned avalanches will occur. (A)

The DURATION of this space organisation is of the order of A FEW MINUTES.
